Star stayer features in elite field which contains six individual Group 1 winners
Dual Gold Cup winner Stradivarius features among 11 entries for Friday’s rescheduled Coronation Cup at Newmarket; the race will be the opening contest of this year’s QIPCO British Champions Series.
Also listed in the entries is last year’s Investec Derby winner, Anthony Van Dyke. The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt failed to land further Group 1 honours after winning at Epsom last year and was last seen finishing third in the Breeders’ Cup Turf.

Last year’s winner Defoe will also bid to defend his title, while the front-running German Group 1 winner Ghaiyyath could represent Godolphin.
Martyn Meade’s Prix Royal Oak winner Technician and David Simcock’s globetrotting eight-year-old Desert Encounter complete the Group 1-winning contenders in the field.
