QIPCO Holding is a private, family-run investment company owned by six brothers, led by Chief Executive Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani.
Based in Doha, QIPCO has a diverse range of interests, including real estate, construction, oil and gas, trading and services, finance and health and horseracing.
Through its subsidiaries, Qatar Racing and Qatar Bloodstock, QIPCO owns a global thoroughbred racing and breeding operation that is based in the UK. Qatar Bloodstock’s British-based stallions, together with their mares and foals, reside at Tweenhills Farm and Stud in Gloucestershire.
In 2011 QIPCO became title sponsor of the British Champion Series and in 2014, QIPCO became Ascot’s first Official Partner. Both partnerships have now been significantly extended to 2024, illustrating QIPCO’s continued commitment to developing and promoting the quality of British racing.
As part of their sponsorship of British Champions Series, QIPCO is the title sponsor of the opening and closing fixtures in the series, starting with the QIPCO Guineas Festival at Newmarket in May, featuring the 2000 Guineas and 1000 Guineas, and concluding with QIPCO British Champions Day at Ascot in October.
HH Sheikh Hamad Abdullah Al Thani said: “We feel proud and privileged to have built an association with world-renowned events such as British Champions Day and I’m delighted that our sponsorship of British Champions Series has successfully served to promote the exceptional quality of horseracing in Britain”.
