2018: Year Of The Lion
14 Nov 2018
Last Night’s Cartier Awards was a fantastic evening both personally and for the people I’ve been connected with from the beginning of my career. It marked the outstanding achievements of Roaring Lionbxdyyeaxetvqedtwfxvacrfbrubzsw and the people surrounding him. Sheikh Fahad bin Abdullah Al Thani and his brothers along with their company QIPCO who invest so heavily in World Racing. It was extremely rewarding to see their efforts recognised through the achievements of Qatar Racing, headed by David Redvers.

Tweenhills Stud retire two outstanding racehorses in Lightning Spear and Roaring Lion for 2019. I must admit, I will very much miss both! Hot Streak and I met for the first time since 2014 recently, he’s such a gorgeous horse and I must thank him for putting me in limelight when winning my first Group race, The Temple Stakes at Haydock.
I’ve been fortunate to ride outstanding horses this year. Benbatl, The Tin Man and Royal Marine provided me with Group 1 success in four different countries. I must thank their connections for allowing me ride them. I believe Fast horses make Fast jockeys.
I’m currently planning stints in Hong Kong, Japan and Dubai for my winter travels. It’s an extraordinary position to be in, riding horses and travel the world. I crave nothing more then winning races.
I’d like to thank everyone who’s supported me this year. The Christmas cards are in the post!
