Began the complete outsider in a field of eight for the QIPCO British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes in 2013 but won like an odds-on shot, scooting home by four lengths under George Baker.
That experience contrasted sharply with her previous outing, in the Group 2 Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster, when clipped the heels with one of the leaders and fell about two furlongs from home.
Fortunately, Seal of Approval was none the worse for her tumble, but Hayley Turner, her jockey, suffered a broken ankle.
Seal of Approval failed to attract a bid when she went to the sales as a yearling and was bought back by her breeders, Tim and Tessa Vestey, for £10,500. It proved a shrewd move, even though Doncaster was not her only mishap
When losing her maiden tag at Kempton, she lost a shoe, punctured the sole of her foot and chipped a pedal bone. Her rehabilitation meant a ten-month absence from the track.
Her final run was when fifth in the 2014 QIPCO British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes. She stayed on inside the final furlong but could never match the leaders.
