Summary

A tough, progressive miler who, by the end of 2015, had won 12 of his 45 races, earning almost £500,000 in prize money.

The son of Notnowcato began life in Ireland racing for his breeders, Moyglare Stud Farm, and trainer Dermot Weld, but suffered a fruitless two-year-old career, failing to register a top-three finish.

Sold and moved to another Irish trainer, George Kent, he suffered three more defeats before he won four straight races in the summer 2012.

He then ran consistently well for the next two years but managed just a solitary victory in his next 18 starts, in a Group 3 contest at the Curragh in April 2013.

By the summer of 2014 he had again changed hands (for £99,750) and made the journey across the Irish Sea to reside in the Yorkshire stable of David O’Meara, who instantly got the most out of him.

Five successive wins that year included a win in the Group 2 Shadwell Joel Stakes.

In 2015, he chalked up two more Group 2 victories (at Sandown and Leopardstown) and was runner-up to Time Test when attempting a repeat win in the Joel Stakes. He has continued to run with credit and consistency in 2016 without making his mark in the Series.
