The Ger Lyons-trained colt beat all bar Gleneagles in the Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh in 2015, keeping on stoutly to be beaten only three quarters of a length.

He seemed certain to make his presence felt in more big races that season but a setback meant that he missed the rest of the campaign.

Endless Drama returned after almost a year off to run another cracker, finishing a close third behind Belardo and Euro Charline in the Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.

However, he was unable to make an impression in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot on his next start and after again failing to reproduce that form in a Group 3 race at the Curragh in August he was moved to Australia to continue his career.

Grimthorpe on MIDTERM: "We were a bit disappointed with him on Saturday. If we can get him right then I don't doubt he'll improve greatly."
