Like so many jockeys, Graham Gibbons served his apprenticeship with Reg Hollinshead and rode his first winner on Running For Me at Southwell on 8 May 2000.
In recent seasons, Gibbons has established himself as one of the the leading jockeys based in the North and enjoyed a great relationship with Blythe Knight, winning two renewals of the Diomed Stakes at Epsom (2007 and 2008) and the Lincoln (2006) on the John Quinn-trained gelding.
In 2007, he tasted success at Royal Ascot when Pevensey took the Duke Of Edinburgh Handicap.
