Like so many jockeys, Graham Gibbons served his apprenticeship with Reg Hollinshead and rode his first winner on Running For Me at Southwell on 8 May 2000.
In recent seasons, Gibbons has established himself as one of the the leading jockeys based in the North and enjoyed a great relationship with Blythe Knight, winning two renewals of the Diomed Stakes at Epsom (2007 and 2008) and the Lincoln (2006) on the John Quinn-trained gelding.
In 2007, he tasted success at Royal Ascot when Pevensey took the Duke Of Edinburgh Handicap.
He was third on Hoof It in the Betfred Sprint Cup, race six in the Sprint division of the QIPCO British Champions Series, in both 2011 and 2013.
