Northern-based Tom Eaves has ridden more than 900 winners and enjoyed Group 1 success aboard Tangerine Trees in the 2011 Prix de l’Abbaye.
In 2016, the Wigan-born rider has enjoyed more success aboard another sprinter in Brando, winner of the Ayr Gold Cup and then third in the Qipco British Champions Sprint at Ascot on Champions Day.
From a family with no connection to horses, Eaves graduated from the British Racing School and joined Mary Reveley, with his ambitions being to become a jump jockey.
However, with his weight never rising to 9st, he stuck to the Flat and never looked back after an initial spell with Brian Ellison.
Kevin Ryan and James Given have been the source of most of his winners in 2016.
