Talent is often there for all to see in horseracing, but it isn’t always as easy to show it on the track consistently.

Emaraaty Ana, trained by Kevin Ryan, burst on to the scene in 2018 when winning the Gimcrack Stakes at York and it was clear at that point that connections were optimistic for the future. However his career drifted through his three-year-old campaign, with the only win coming in a Conditions race at Salisbury in September 2019 from a season that started in the QIPCO 2000 Guineas.

There would be no win from September 2019 to July 2021 when Emaraaty Ana finally got back into the winners enclosure with a win at Hamilton Park.

That win seemed to trigger a turn of fortunes for Kevin Ryan’s (now) gelding.

That win resulted in a huge step back up in Grade to the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes over five furlongs where he ran a hugely creditable race to finish second behind Winter Power.

Realising he had a horse back in form, Ryan wasted no time heading the the Group 1 Betfair Sprint Cup where, after being well backed, the horse duly obliged to secure his first Group 1 and QIPCO British Champiosn Series race.
